If You Can Cultivate The Right Attitude, Your Enemies Are Your Best Spiritual Teachers Because Their Presence Provides You With The Opportunity To Enhance And Develop Tolerance, Patience And Understanding.

Today, The World Is So Small And So Interdependent That The Concept Of War Has Become Anachronistic, An Outmoded Approach. As A Rule, We Always Talk About Reform And Changes. Among The Old Traditions, There Are Many Aspects That Are Either Ill-suited To Our Present Reality Or Are Counterproductive Due To Their Shortsightedness. These, We Have Consigned To The Dustbin Of History. War Too Should Be Relegated To The Dustbin Of History.

Unfortunate Events Though Potentially A Source Of Anger And Despair Have Equal Potential To Be A Source Of Spiritual Growth. Whether Or Not This Is The Outcome Depends On Your Response.

Other Human Beings Have A Right To Peace And Happiness That Is Equal To Our Own; Therefore We Have A Responsibility To Help Those In Need.

Whenever There Is A Challenge, There Is Also An Opportunity To Face It, To Demonstrate And Develop Our Will And Determination.

Without Your Own Effort It Is Impossible For Blessings To Come.

So Long As Space Remains So Long As Sentient Beings' Suffering Remains I Will Remain In Order To Help, In Order To Serve.

From A Buddhist Point Of View, The Actual Experience Of Death Is Very Important. Although How Or Where We Will Be Reborn Is Generally Dependent On Karmic Forces, Our State Of Mind At The Time Of Death Can Influence The Quality Of Our Next Rebirth. So At The Moment Of Death, In Spite Of The Great Variety Of Karmas We Have Accumulated, If We Make A Special Effort To Generate A Virtuous State Of Mind, We May Strengthen And Activate A Virtuous Karma, And So Bring About A Happy Rebirth.

Education Is The Proper Way To Promote Compassion And Tolerance In Society. Compassion And Peace Of Mind Bring A Sense Of Confidence That Reduce Stress And Anxiety, Whereas Anger And Hatred Come From Frustration And Undermine Our Sense Of Trust. Because Of Ignorance, Many Of Our Problems Are Our Own Creation. Education, However, Is The Instrument That Increases Our Ability To Employ Our Own Intelligence.

Cultivating Care And Concern For Others Gives Rise To A Kind Of Inner Strength. No Matter What Difficulties Or Problems You Face, In This Wider Context They’ll Seem Less Significant And Troubling To You. The Inner Strength, Self-confidence And Courage You Gain By Focussing On Others’ Needs Instead Of Your Own, Brings With It A Deep, Calm Sense Of Satisfaction.

There Needs To Be Understanding That Anger Never Helps To Solve A Problem. It Destroys Our Peace Of Mind And Blinds Our Ability To Think Clearly. Anger And Attachment Are Emotions That Distort Our View Of Reality.

The Only Clear Thing Is That We Humans Are The Only Species With The Power To Destroy The Earth As We Know It. The Birds Have No Such Power, Nor Do The Insects, Nor Does Any Mammal. Yet If We Have The Capacity To Destroy The Earth, So, Too, Do We Have The Capacity To Protect It.

The Antidote To Hatred In The Heart, The Source Of Violence, Is Tolerance. Tolerance Is An Important Virtue Of Bodhisattvas [enlightened Heroes And Heroines] - It Enables You To Refrain From Reacting Angrily To The Harm Inflicted On You By Others. You Could Call This Practice "inner Disarmament," In That A Well-developed Tolerance Makes You Free From The Compulsion To Counterattack. For The Same Reason, We Also Call Tolerance The "best Armor," Since It Protects You From Being Conquered By Hatred Itself.

Encountering Sufferings Will Definitely Contribute To The Elevation Of Your Spiritual Practice, Provided You Are Able To Transform Calamity And Misfortune Into The Path.

I Feel Many Problems That We Are Facing, Are Man-made Problems, We Have Too Much Emphasis On This Secondary Thing, Forgetting Our Foundation. At Foundation, We Are The Same Human Being And We Are Sharing The Same Planet. Six Billion Human Beings' Future Is My Future And My Future Is Never Separate From The Future Of Six Billion Human Beings.

A Wider Of More Altruistic Attitude Is Very Relevant In Today's World. If We Look At The Situation From Various Angles, Such As The Complexity And Inter-connectedness Of The Nature Of Modern Existence, Then We Will Gradually Notice A Change In Our Outlook, So That When We Say 'others' And When We Think Of Others, We Will No Longer Dismiss Them As Something That Is Irrelevant To Us. We Will No Longer Feel Indifferent.

On The Philosophical Level, Both Buddhism And Modern Science Share A Deep Suspicion Of Any Notion Of Absolutes, Whether Conceptualize As A Transcendent Being, As An Eternal, Unchanging Principle Such As Soul, Or As A Fundamental Substratum Of Reality. ... In The Buddhist Investigation Of Reality, At Least In Principle, Empirical Evidence Should Triumph Over Scriptural Authority, No Matter How Deeply Venerated A Scripture May Be.

Soul Is At Home In The Deep, Shaded Valleys. Heavy Torpid Flowers Saturated With Black Grow There. The Rivers Flow Like Warm Syrup. They Empty Into Huge Oceans Of Soul.

In Order To Lead A Meaningful Life, You Need To Cherish Others, Pay Attention To Human Values And Try To Cultivate Inner Peace.

Afflictive Emotions - Our Jealousy, Anger, Hatred, Fear - Can Be Put To An End. When You Realize That These Emotions Are Only Temporary, That They Always Pass On Like Clouds In The Sky, You Also Realize They Can Ultimately Be Abandoned.

Delusions Are States Of Mind Which, When They Arise Within Our Mental Continuum, Leave Us Disturbed, Confused And Unhappy. Therefore, Those States Of Mind Which Delude Or Afflict Us Are Called 'delusions.'

As A Human Being, Anger Is A Part Of Our Mind. Irritation Also Part Of Our Mind. But You Can Do - Anger Come, Go. Never Keep In Your Sort Of - Your Inner World, Then Create A Lot Of Suspicion, A Lot Of Distrust, A Lot Of Negative Things, More Worry.

Differences In Religious Beliefs, Politics, Social Status, And Position Are All Secondary. When We Look At Someone With Compassion, We Are Able To See Beyond These Secondary Differences And Connect To The Primary Essence That Binds All Humans Together As One.

If We Wish To Ensure Everyone’s Peace And Happiness We Need To Cultivate A Healthy Respect For The Diversity Of Our Peoples And Cultures, Founded On An Understanding Of This Fundamental Sameness Of All Human Beings

Buddha Was Speaking About Reality. Reality May Be One, In Its Deepest Essence, But Buddha Also Stated That All Propositions About Reality Are Only Contingent.

Ethics: The Indispensable Interface Between My Desire To Be Happy And Yours.

Not Only That, But If You Combine These Two, Your Whole Life Will Be A Constructive And Happy Life. And Certainly You Can Make Immense Benefit For Society And The Betterment Of Humanity. That Is One Of My Fundamental Beliefs: That A Good Heart, A Warm Heart, A Compassionate Heart, Is Still Teachable.

We May Now Have Reached A Point Where This Gap In Our Make-up Has Become Unsustainable; Partly Because What In The Past Would Have Counted As Material Plenty Has Become The Norm For The Majority In Much Of The World; And Partly Because The Slow Retreat Of Religion That Coincided With The Spread Of A Capitalist Economy Has Left A Gaping Hole In Millions Of People's Lives. Such Recollection Tends To Be More Accessible During Meditative Experiences In The Dream State. Once One Has Accessed Memories Of Previous Lives In The Dream State, One Gradually Recalls Them In The Waking State.

...there Is An Intense Delight In Abandoning Faulty States Of Mind And In Cultivating Helpful Ones In Meditation.

It Is In Everybody's Interest To Seek Those [actions] That Lead To Happiness And Avoid Those Which Lead To Suffering. And Because Our Interests Are Inextricably Linked, We Are Compelled To Accept Ethics As The Indispensable Interface Between My Desire To Be Happy And Yours.

There Are Differences Between Us. But It Doesn't Make Sense To Emphasize That, Because My Future And Yours Is Connected With Everyone Else's. So We Have To Take Seriously Our Concern For All Of Humanity. When We Focus On Our Individuality, Humanity Inevitably Suffers. And Once Humanity Suffers, Each One Of Us Will Also Suffer.

You Have To Start Giving First And Expect Absolutely Nothing.

Man Sacrifices His Health In Order To Make Money. Then He Sacrifices Money To Recuperate His Health.

Inner Disarmament, External Disarmament; These Must Go Together, You See. Peace Is Not Just Mere Absence Of Violence - Genuine Peace Must Start In Each Individual Heart.

[animals] Appreciate Others' Affection, They Also Have The Sort Of Ability To Show Their Own Affection. And Then As Soon As We're Born, Child, No Religious Faith.

World Belongs To Humanity, Not This Leader, That Leader Or That King Or Prince Or Religious Leader. World Belongs To Humanity.

My Message Is The Practice Of Compassion, Love And Kindness.

If I Had Not Been A Monk, I Would Have Become An Engineer.

Sometimes We Feel That One Individual's Action Is Very Insignificant. Then We Think, Of Course, That Effects Should Come From Channeling Or From A Unifying Movement. But The Movement Of The Society, Community Or Group Of People Means Joining Individuals. Society Means A Collection Of Individuals, So That Initiative Must Come From Individuals. Unless Each Individual Develops A Sense Of Responsibility, The Whole Community Cannot Move. So Therefore, It Is Very Essential That We Should Not Feel That Individual Effort Is Meaningless- You Should Not Feel That Way. We Should Make An Effort.

It Is A Wonderful Thing If One Can Use One's Place Of Work As A Place Of Spiritual Practice As Well.

I'm Nothing Special, Just An Ordinary Human Being. That's Why I Always Describe Myself As A Simple Buddhist Monk.

Compassion Is The Wish To See Others Free From Suffering.

Take Into Account That Great Love And Great Achievements Involve Great Risk.

To Conquer Oneself Is A Greater Victory Than To Conquer Thousands In A Battle.

When I Meet People From Other Cultures I Know That They Too Want Happiness And Do Not Want Suffering, This Allows Me To See Them As Brothers And Sisters.

While People Are Often Content To Criticize And Blame Others For What Goes Wrong, Surely We Should At Least Attempt To Put Forward Constructive Ideas. It Is Not Enough Simply To Wish That Love And Compassion Should Increase In Us. We Need To Make A Sustained Effort, Again And Again, To Cultivate The Positive Aspects Within Us - And The Key Here Is Constant Familiarity. The Nature Of Human Thoughts And Emotions Is Such That The More You Engage In Them, The More You Consciously Develop Them, The More Powerful They Become.

It Is Not Enough To Be Compassionate, We Must Act.

To Develop Genuine Devotion, You Must Know The Meaning Of Teachings. The Main Emphasis In Buddhism Is To Transform The Mind, And This Transformation Depends Upon Meditation. In Order To Meditate Correctly, You Must Have Knowledge.

Many Of The Earth's Habitats, Animals, Plants, Insects And Even Micro-organisms That We Know To Be Rare May Not Be Known At All By Future Generations. We Have The Capability And The Responsibility To Act; We Must Do So Before It Is Too Late.

We Can Solve Many Problems In An Appropriate Way, Without Any Difficulty, If We Cultivate Harmony, Friendship And Respect For One Another.

Inner Peace Is The Key: If You Have Inner Peace, The External Problems Do Not Affect Your Deep Sense Of Peace And Tranquility... Without This Inner Peace, No Matter How Comfortable Your Life Is Materially, You May Still Be Worried, Disturbed Or Unhappy Because Of Circumstances.

Genuine Harmony Must Come From The Heart. It Cannot Come From The Barrel Of A Gun.

Religion Is Like Going Out To Dinner With Friends. Everyone May Order Something Different, But Everyone Can Still Sit At The Same Table.

There Is A Saying In Tibetan That "at The Door Of The Miserable Rich Man Sleeps The Contented Beggar". The Point Of This Saying Is Not That Poverty Is A Virtue, But That Happiness Does Not Come With Wealth, But From Setting Limits To One's Desires, And Living Within Those Limits With Satisfaction.

We Don’t Need More Money, We Don’t Need Greater Success Or Fame, We Don’t Need The Perfect Body Or Even The Perfect Mate-right Now, At This Very Moment, We Have A Mind, Which Is All The Basic Equipment We Need To Achieve Complete Happiness.

Without Freedom, Creativity Cannot Flourish. The Right To Freedom Is Crucial To Progress In Any Society; And The Context Is Having A Sense Of Global Responsibility.

Real Change In Society Must Start From Individual Initiative.

One Of The Most Effective Ways To Overcome Anxiety Is To Try To Shift The Focus Of Attention Away From Self And Toward Others.

Open Your Arms To Change But Don't Let Go Of Your Values.

Love, Compassion And Concern For Others Are Real Sources Of Happiness. If You Have These In Abundance, You Will Not Be Disturbed Even By The Most Uncomfortable Circumstances. If You Nurse Hatred, However, You Will Not Be Happy Even In The Lap Of Luxury. Thus, If We Really Want Happiness, We Must Widen The Sphere Of Love. This Is Both Religious Thinking And Basic Common Sense.

The Key To Genuine Happiness Is In Our Hands. To Think This Way Is To Discover The Essential Values Of Kindness, Brotherly Love And Altruism. The More Clearly We See The Benefits Of These Values, The More We Will Seek To Reject Anything That Opposes Them; In This Way We Will Be Able To Bring About Inner Transformation.

You Are So Anxious About The Future That You Do Not Enjoy The Present. You Therefore Do Not Live In The Present Or The Future. You Live As If You Are Never Going To Die, And Then Die Having Never Really Lived.

The True Hero Is One Who Conquers His Own Anger And Hatred.

Sometimes People Feel Mind Is Merely The - In Some Animal, The Energy Or Something From The Brain. Now There Are Little Sort Of Curiosities Or I Think Doubt Sometimes A Sheer Sort Of Mental Attitude, Some Change In Our Brain. So These Fields, Now Scientists Are Showing Some Interest.

Human Use, Population, And Technology Have Reached That Certain Stage Where Mother Earth No Longer Accepts Our Presence With Silence.

In Today’s Interconnected And Globalized World, It Is Now Commonplace For People Of Dissimilar World Views, Faiths And Races To Live Side By Side. It Is A Matter Of Great Urgency, Therefore, That We Find Ways To Cooperate With One Another In A Spirit Of Mutual Acceptance And Respect.
