Anger, Hatred And Jealousy Never Solve Problems, Only Affection, Concern And Respect Can Do That.

Different People Describe Me In A Different Ways. Some Describe Me As The Living Buddha. Nonsense. Some Describe Me As 'god-king.' Nonsense. Some Consider Me As A Demon Or A Wolf In Buddhist Robes. That Also, I Think Nonsense.

In Order To Lead A Meaningful Life, You Need To Cherish Others, Pay Attention To Human Values And Try To Cultivate Inner Peace.

By Being Inattentive To The Needs Of Others, Inevitably We End Up Harming Them.

That Means We Are Not Well Equipped To Be Aggressive Beings. Even The Size Of Our Mouth Is Very Small. So I Think The Basic Nature Of Human Beings Should Be Gentle.

Don't Be A Person Of Success, Be A Person Of Value.

So Long As We Are Under The Control Of Disturbing Emotions, Real Happiness Is Hard To Find.

If I Were To Die Today, I Would Have Some Concern For Tibet. But I Know That I Have Personally Done As Much As I Can To Use My Existence For Others. So I Have No Regret.

In Our Own Case, We Don't Consider The Loss Of A Monastery Or A Monument The End Of Our Entire Way Of Life. If One Monastery Is Destroyed, Sometimes It Happens.

As Long As We Observe Love For Others And Respect For Their Rights And Dignity In Our Daily Lives, Then Whether We Are Learned Or Unlearned, Whether We Believe In The Buddha Or God, Follow Some Religion Or None At All, As Long As We Have Compassion For Others And Conduct Ourselves With Restraint Out Of A Sense Of Responsibility, There Is No Doubt We Will Be Happy.

My Faith Helps Me Overcome Such Negative Emotions And Find My Equilibrium.

The Wiser Course Is To Think Of Others When Pursuing Our Own Happiness.

I Think Many People Knows What I Am Thinking. The Whole World Knows I Am Not Seeking Independence, Therefore Is Many Tibetan Disappointed, And Also Some Of Our Supporters - Many Indians, Many Europeans, Many Americans Are Also Disappointed Because I Am Not Seeking Independence.

Most Of Our Troubles Are Due To Our Passionate Desire For And Attachment To Things That We Misapprehend As Enduring Entities.

Lack Of Understanding Of The True Nature Of Happiness, It Seems To Me, Is The Principal Reason Why People Inflict Sufferings On Others. They Think Either That The Other's Pain May Somehow Be A Cause Of Happiness For Themselves Or That Their Own Happiness Is More Important, Regardless Of What Pain It May Cause. But This Is Shortsighted. No One Truly Benefits From Causing Harm To Another Sentient Being. . . . . In The Long Run Causing Others Misery And Infringing Their Rights To Peace And Happiness Result In Anxiety, Fear, And Suspicion Within Oneself.

The Truly Good Gaze Upon Everything With Love And Understanding.

Just As Compassion Is The Wish That All Sentient Beings Be Free Of Suffering, Loving-kindness Is The Wish That All May Enjoy Happiness.

When Young We Have A Vivid Sense Of Basic Values Like Trust And Warm-heartedness, Which We Tend To Neglect In Today's Competitive World As We Grow Up, Yet From Birth We All Have A Need For Affection. The Emotions We Experience Today Have Not Changed Much Over The Last Few Thousand Years, But The Interest Increasing Numbers Of People Are Showing In Their Inner World And How Their Emotions Work Is A Sign Of Maturity.

But We Can Also Say That Insects Are Innocent And Free From Guile, Where As We Often Lie And Misrepresent Ourselves In Devious Ways In Order To Achieve Our Ends Or Better Ourselves. From This Perspective, We Are Much Worse Than Insects.

If You Wish To Experience Peace, Provide Peace For Another.

It Is Important To Reflect On The Kindness Of Others. Every Aspect Of Our Present Well-being Is Due To Others' Hard Work. The Buildings We Live And Work In, The Roads We Travel, The Clothes We Wear, And The Food We Eat, Are All Provided By Others. None Of Them Would Exist But For The Kindness Of So Many People Unknown To Us.

The Period Of Greatest Gain In Knowledge And Experience Is The Most Difficult Period In One's Life.

I Don't Take Myself Too Seriously! That Makes Me Happy.

Although Violence And The Use Of Force May Appear Powerful And Decisive, Their Benefits Are Short-lived. Violence Can Never Bring A Lasting And Long Term Resolution To Any Problem, Because It Is Unpredictable And For Every Problem It Seems To Solve, Others Are Created. On The Other Hand, Truth Remains Constant And Will Ultimately Prevail.

If We Wish To Ensure Everyone’s Peace And Happiness We Need To Cultivate A Healthy Respect For The Diversity Of Our Peoples And Cultures, Founded On An Understanding Of This Fundamental Sameness Of All Human Beings

People Once Considered That Religions Were Obsolete And That Material Science Would Solve All Human Problems. Then They Have Become Disillusioned With Materialism And Machinery And Have Realized That Spiritual Sciences Are Also Indispensable For Human Welfare.

The Earth Is Not Just Our Environment. The Earth Is Our Mother.

The Colors Of Light Are Infinite Through Refraction, Yet They All Come From The Same Source. Thus I Cannot Detach Myself From The Wickedest Soul, Nor Fail To Identify With The Most Virtuous.

Constructiveness Is The Human Way.

In The Past, Destruction Of Your Neighbour Might Have Been Considered A Victory, But Today We Are All Interdependent. We Live In A Global Economy; We Face Problems Like Climate Change That Affect Us All. The 7 Billion Human Beings Alive Today Belong To One Human Family. In The Context That Others' Interests Are In Our Interest And Our Interest Is In Their Interest, The Use Of Force Is Self-destructive.

My Call For A Spiritual Revolution Is Not A Call For A Religious Revolution. Nor Is It A Reference To A Way Of Life That Is Somehow Otherworldly, Still Less To Something Magical Or Mysterious. Rather It Is A Call For A Radical Reorientation Away From Our Habitual Preoccupation With Self. It Is A Call To Turn Toward The Wider Community Of Beings With Whom We Are Connected, And For Conduct Which Recognizes Others' Interests Alongside Our Own.

Our Every Action Has A Universal Dimension, A Potential Impact On Others' Happiness.

Because Of The Risks Of Unrestrained Desire And Greed We Need To Cultivate Contentment And Simplicity.

If A Harmonious Relationship Is Established Amongst Societies And Religious Beliefs In Today's Multi-ethnic, Multi-religious And Multi-cultural World, Then It Will Surely Set A Very Good Example For Others.

It Is Our Collective And Individual Responsibility To Preserve And Tend To The Environment In Which We All Live.

The Deep Root Of Failure In Our Lives Is To Think, 'oh How Useless And Powerless I Am.' It Is Essential To Think Strongly And Forcefully, 'i Can Do It,' Without Boasting Or Fretting.

Encountering Sufferings Will Definitely Contribute To The Elevation Of Your Spiritual Practice, Provided You Are Able To Transform Calamity And Misfortune Into The Path.

Peace Has A Great Deal To Do With Warm-heartednes S And Respect For The Lives Of Others, Avoiding Doing Them Harm And Regarding Their Lives As Being As Precious As Our Own. If, On That Basis, We Can Also Be Of Help To Others, So Much The Better.

When Seen From Outer Space, Our Beautiful Blue Planet Has No National Boundaries.

Since Periods Of Great Change, Such As The Present One, Come So Rarely In Human History, It Is Up To Each Of Us To Make The Best Use Of Our Time To Help Create A Happier World.

There Are Differences Between Us. But It Doesn't Make Sense To Emphasize That, Because My Future And Yours Is Connected With Everyone Else's. So We Have To Take Seriously Our Concern For All Of Humanity. When We Focus On Our Individuality, Humanity Inevitably Suffers. And Once Humanity Suffers, Each One Of Us Will Also Suffer.

If We Have A Positive Mental Attitude, Then Even When Surrounded By Hostility, We Shall Not Lack Inner Peace.

...it Becomes Clear That, Given Our Diversity, No Single Religion Satisfies All Humanity. ... And Since The Majority Does Not Practice Religion, I Am Concerned To Try To Find A Way To Serve All Humanity Without Appealing To Religious Faith.

Compassion Is One Of The Principal Things That Make Our Lives Meaningful. It Is The Source Of All Lasting Happiness And Joy.

Compassion Should Be Unbiased And Based On The Recognition That Others Have The Right To Happiness, Just Like You.

Peace Isn't The Mere Absence Of Violence; Peace Must Come From Inner Peace. And Inner Peace Comes From Taking Others’ Interests Into Account.

An Open Heart Is An Open Mind.

I Must Have Dialogue With The Chinese Government, And Dialogue Requires Compromise. Therefore, I'm Speaking For Genuine Self-rule, Not For Independence.

I Find That Because Of Modern Technological Evolution And Our Global Economy, And As A Result Of The Great Increase In Population, Our World Has Greatly Changed: It Has Become Much Smaller. However, Our Perceptions Have Not Evolved At The Same Pace; We Continue To Cling To Old National Demarcations And The Old Feelings Of 'us' And 'them'.

Spend Some Time Alone Every Day.

Scientists Are Discovering That While Anger And Hatred Eat Into Our Immune System, Warm-heartedness And Compassion Are Good For Our Health.

Laughing In Full Abandonment Is Very Good For Your Health.

A Calm Mind Is Good For Our Physical Health, But It Also Enables Us To See Things More Realistically.

Too Much Self-centered Attitude, You See, Brings, You See, Isolation. Result: Loneliness, Fear, Anger. The Extreme Self-centered Attitude Is The Source Of Suffering.

We Can't Blame The Entire Muslim Society Because Of The Mischievous Acts Of A Few Individuals.
