In Today’s Interconnected And Globalized World, It Is Now Commonplace For People Of Dissimilar World Views, Faiths And Races To Live Side By Side. It Is A Matter Of Great Urgency, Therefore, That We Find Ways To Cooperate With One Another In A Spirit Of Mutual Acceptance And Respect.

My Belief Is That The Various Religious Traditions Have Great Potential To Increase Compassion, The Sense Of Caring For One Another, And The Spirit Of Reconciliation. However, I Believe That A Human Being, Without Religious Faith, Can Be A Very Good Person - Sincere, A Good Heart, Having A Sense Of Concern For Others - Without Belief In A Particular Religious Faith.

If You Can, Help Others; If You Cannot Do That, At Least Do Not Harm Them.

The Future Will Be In The Hands Of Those Of You Who Belong To The 21st Century. You Have The Opportunity And Responsibility To Build A Better Humanity. This Means Developing Warm-heartednes S In This Very Life, Here And Now. Altruism Is The Best Source Of Happiness. There Is No Doubt About That.

It Is Important To Have Determination And Optimism And Patience. If You Lack Patience, Even When You Face Some Small Obstacle, You Lose Courage. There Is A Tibetan Saying, "even If You Have Failed At Something Nine Times, You Have Still Given It Effort Nine Times." I Think That's Important. Use Your Brain To Analyze The Situation. Do Not Rush Through It, But Think. Once You Decide What To Do About That Obstacle, Then There's A Possibility That You Will Achieve Your Goal.

As Far As Your Personal Requirements Are Concerned, The Ideal Is To Have Fewer Involvements, Fewer Obligations, And Fewer Affairs, Business Or Whatever. However, So Far As The Interest Of The Larger Community Is Concerned, You Must Have As Many Involvements As Possible And As Many Activities As Possible.

The Immediate Source Of A Mind... Must Be A Mind Which Existed Before The Conception Took Place; The Mind Must Have A Continuity From A Previous Mind. This We Hold To Prove The Existence Of A Past Life.

Don't Use Buddhism To Become A Buddhist. Use Buddhism To Become Better At Whatever Else In Your Life You Are Doing Already.

There Should Be Pluralism - The Concept Of Many Religions, Many Truths. But We Must Also Be Careful Not To Become Nihilistic.

Morally Speaking, We Should Be Concerned For Our Whole Environment.

The Proper Use Of Our Intelligence And Knowledge Is To Effect Changes From Within To Develop A Good Heart.

Where Ignorance Is Our Master, There Is No Possibility Of Real Peace.

A Generous Heart And Wholesome Actions Lead To Greater Peace.

Feelings Of Anger, Bitterness, And Hate Are Negative. If I Kept Those Inside Me, They Would Spoil My Body And My Health. The Are Of No Use.

If I Try To Develop Compassion Towards My Enemy, It May Not Benefit Him Directly, He May Not Even Be Aware Of It. But It Will Immediately Benefit Me By Calming My Mind. If There Were Really Serious Consequences If I Did Not Accept, Then Of Course I Would Do Whatever Was Necessary. But In General I Really Prefer Some Freedom.

You Are So Anxious About The Future That You Do Not Enjoy The Present. You Therefore Do Not Live In The Present Or The Future. You Live As If You Are Never Going To Die, And Then Die Having Never Really Lived.

Your Friend, Your Enemy, Your Neutral All Are Equal. Genuine Compassion Is Unbiased.

In Daily Practice, Reflect On The Benefits Of Love, Compassion And Kindness, Then Reflect On The Disadvantages Of Anger. Such Continuous Contemplation, The Growing Appreciation Of Love, Has The Effect Of Reducing Our Inclination Towards Hatred And Increasing Our Respect For Love. By This Means Even Anger Can Be Diminished.

Our Visit To This Planet Is Short, So We Should Use Our Time Meaningfully, Which We Can Do By Helping Others Wherever Possible. And If We Cannot Help Others, At Least We Should Try Not To Create Pain And Suffering For Them.

Giving Up Attachment To The World Does Not Mean That You Set Yourself Apart From It. Generating A Desire For Others To Be Happy Increases Your Humanity. There Must Be A Way Of Promoting Human Values Without Involving Religion, Based On Common Sense, Experience And Recent Scientific Findings.

Education Is The Proper Way To Promote Compassion And Tolerance In Society. Compassion And Peace Of Mind Bring A Sense Of Confidence That Reduce Stress And Anxiety, Whereas Anger And Hatred Come From Frustration And Undermine Our Sense Of Trust. Because Of Ignorance, Many Of Our Problems Are Our Own Creation. Education, However, Is The Instrument That Increases Our Ability To Employ Our Own Intelligence.

Until You Have The Inner Discipline That Brings Calmness Of Mind, External Facilities And Conditions Will Never Bring The Joy And Happiness You Seek. On The Other Hand, If You Possess This Inner Quality, Calmness Of Mind, A Degree Of Stability Within, Even If You Lack The Various External Factors That You Would Normally Require To Be Happy, It Will Still Be Possible To Live A Happy And Joyful Life.

A Positive State Of Mind Is Not Merely Good For You, It Benefits Everyone With Whom You Come Into Contact, Literally Changing The World.

True Friends Share Genuine Closeness And Remain Friends Irrespective Of Fluctuating Fortunes.

Appearance Is Something Absolute, But Reality Is Not That Way - Everything Is Interdependent, Not Absolute.

Happiness Is A State Of Mind. With Physical Comforts If Your Mind Is Still In A State Of Confusion And Agitation, It Is Not Happiness. Happiness Means Calmness Of Mind.

In Order To Do That, It Must Be Part Of Our Life. If You Put Religious Doctrine In A Building And When You Leave The Building Depart From The Practices, You Cannot Gain Its Value.

Conservation Is Not Merely A Question Of Morality, But A Question Of Our Own Survival.

World Peace Must Develop From Inner Peace.

The Practice Of Patience Guards Us Against Losing Our Presence Of Mind. It Enables Us To Remain Undisturbed, Even When The Situation Is Really Difficult. It Gives Us A Certain Amount Of Inner Peace, Which Allows Us Some Self-control, So That We Can Choose To Respond To Situations In An Appropriate And Compassionate Manner, Rather Than Being Driven By Our Disturbing Emotions.

We Are Driven By Self-interest, It’s Necessary To Survive. But We Need Wise Self-interest That Is Generous And Co-operative, Taking Others’ Interests Into Account. Co-operation Comes From Friendship, Friendship Comes From Trust, And Trust Comes From Kind-heartedness. Once You Have A Genuine Sense Of Concern For Others, There’s No Room For Cheating, Bullying Or Exploitation.

The Essence Of Compassion Is A Desire To Alleviate The Suffering Of Others And To Promote Their Well-being

The Most Important Thing Is Transforming Our Minds, For A New Way Of Thinking, A New Outlook: We Should Strive To Develop A New Inner World.

Samsara - Our Conditioned Existence In The Perpetual Cycle Of Habitual Tendencies And Nirvana - Genuine Freedom From Such An Existence- Are Nothing But Different Manifestations Of A Basic Continuum. So This Continuity Of Consciousness Us Always Present. This Is The Meaning Of Tantra.

The Creatures That Inhabit This Earth-be They Human Beings Or Animals-are Here To Contribute, Each In Its Own Particular Way, To The Beauty And Prosperity Of The World.

Our World And Our Lives Have Become Increasingly Interdependent, So When Our Neighbour Is Harmed, It Affects Us Too. Therefore We Have To Abandon Outdated Notions Of 'them' And 'us' And Think Of Our World Much More In Terms Of A Great 'us', A Greater Human Family.

Someone Else's Action Should Not Determine Your Response.

In The Buddha's Life Story We See The Three Stages Of Practice: Morality Comes First, Then Concentrated Meditation, And Then Wisdom. And We See That The Path Takes Time.

If You Contribute To Other Peoples Happiness, You Will Find The True Meaning Of Life. The Key Point Is To Have A Genuine Sense Of Universal Responsibility

Our Love Could Change The Orbit Of The Earth. So, If A Meteor Ever Comes Hurtling Towards Earth With The Guarantee Of Destruction, Top Scientists May Call On Us To, Well, You Know, Do It Like Crazy For The Sake Of Humankind.

You Must Not Hate Those Who Do Wrong Or Harmful Things; But With Compassion, You Must Do What You Can To Stop Them — For They Are Harming Themselves, As Well As Those Who Suffer From Their Actions.

Some Consider Me As A Living Buddha. That's Nonsense. That's Silly. That's Wrong. If They Consider Me A Simple Buddhist Monk, However, That's Probably Okay.

The Proper Way To Create Friends Is To Have A Warm Heart, Not Simply Money Or Power. The Friend Of Power And The Friend Of Money Are Something Different.

To Combat Hatred Directed Toward A Person, A Buddhist Cultivates Loving Kindness Toward That Person.

Many People Today Agree That We Need To Reduce Violence In Our Society. If We Are Truly Serious About This, We Must Deal With The Roots Of Violence, Particularly Those That Exist Within Each Of Us. Climate Change Has Been Immense Difficulties Of Pains Or Illness Or Hard Life On This Planet. So Through That Way, You Have Sense Of Concern Of The Well Being, Not Sky, Not Just The Environment Itself.

Physical Comforts Cannot Subdue Mental Suffering, And If We Look Closely, We Can See That Those Who Have Many Possessions Are Not Necessarily Happy. In Fact, Being Wealthy Often Brings Even More Anxiety.

Tibetans Must Take Full Authority And Responsibility For Developing Industry, Looking From All Different Perspectives, Taking Care Of The Environment, Conserving Resources For Long-term Economic Health, And Safeguarding The Interests Of Tibetan Workers, Nomads, And Farmers.

We Should Reflect On The Idea That Since The Beginning Of Time Sentient Beings Have Been Mentally Unstable Because They Have Been Slaves Of Delusion, They Lack The Eye Of Wisdom To See The Path Leading To Nirvana And Enlightenment, And They Lack The Necessary Guidance Of A Spiritual Teacher. Moment By Moment They Are Indulging In Negative Actions, Which Will Eventually Bring About Their Downfall.

We Must Openly Accept All Ideologies And Systems As A Means Of Solving Humanity's Problems. One Country, One Nation, One Ideology, One System Is Not Sufficient.

I Think The Problem Is These Basic Sort Of Human Values From Our - From The Beginning, From Birth, Are Not Sort Of Properly Nurtured. So Then Our Mind, Our Brain, Through Education And Also Difference Of Experiences, That Eventually, These Basic Values Or What Are Called Dominant, Not Have The Catching Up Our Intelligence, Experience Growth, That Also Should Grow. Then Our Life Become More Human.

From The Viewpoint Of Absolute Truth, What We Feel And Experience In Our Ordinary Daily Life Is All Delusion. Of All The Various Delusions, The Sense Of Discrimination Between Oneself And Others Is The Worst Form, As It Creates Nothing But Unpleasantness For Both Sides. I Do Not See Any Reason Why Animals Should Be Slaughtered To Serve As Human Diet When There Are So Many Substitutes. After All, Man Can Live Without Meat. It Is Only Some Carnivorous Animals That Have To Subsist On Flesh. Killing Animals For Sport, For Pleasure, For Adventures, And For Hides And Furs Is A Phenomenon Which Is At Once Disgusting And Distressing. There Is No Justification In Indulging In Such Acts Of Brutality . . . Life Is As Dear To A Mute Creature As It Is To A Man. Just As One Wants Happiness And Fears Pain, Just As One Wants To Live And Not To Die, So Do Other Creatures.

What We Do And Think In Our Own Lives, Then, Becomes Of Extreme Importance As It Effects Everything We're Connected To.

So Long As Space Remains, So Long Sentient Beings' Suffering Remain, I Will Remain, In Order To Help, In Order To Serve... I Am Nothing But A Servant To Provide To Others. So If You Provide Some Happiness, Some Comfort To Others, Then Your Life Becomes Meaningful. If Your Life Creates Problems Or Suffering To Others, Then There's No Meaning To Your Existence.

Religion Is Important For Humanity, But It Should Evolve With Humanity. The First Priority Is To Establish And Develop The Principle Of Pluralism In All Religious Traditions. If We, The Religious Leaders, Cultivate A Sincere Pluralistic Attitude, Then Everything Will Be More Simple. It Is Good That Most Religious Leaders Are At Least Beginning To Recognize Other Traditions, Even Though They May Not Approve Of Them. The Next Step Is To Accept That The Idea Of Propagating Religion Is Outdated. It No Longer Suits The Times.

It Seems That For Some People The Idea Of Compassion Entails A Complete Disregard For Or Even A Sacrifice Of Their Own Interests. This Is Not The Case. In Fact, You First Of All Have To Have A Wish To Be Happy Yourself - If You Don't Love Yourself Like That, How Can You Love Others?

There Are Two Kinds Of Happiness - The Temporary Pleasure Derived Primarily From Material Comfort Alone And Another More Enduring Comfort That Results From The Thorough Transformation And Development Of The Mind. We Can See In Our Own Lives That The Latter Form Of Happiness Is Superior Because When Our Mental State Is Calm And Happy, We Can Easily Put Up With Minor Pains And Physical Discomforts. On The Other Hand, When Our Mind Is Restless And Upset, The Most Comfortable Physical Facilities Do Not Make Us Happy.

I Believe That The Time Has Come For Women To Take More Active Roles In All Domains Of Human Society, In An Age In Which Education And The Capacities Of The Mind, Not Physical Strength, Define Leadership. This Could Help Create A More Equitable And Compassionate Society.
