We Are Built For The Valley, For The Ordinary Stuff We Are In, And That Is Where We Have To Prove Our Mettle. Spiritual Selfishness Always Wants Repeated Moments On The Mount. We Feel We Could Talk Like Angels And Live Like Angels, If Only We Could Stay On The Mount. The Times Of Exaltation Are Exceptional, They Have Their Meaning In Our Life With God, But We Must Beware Lest Our Spiritual Selfishness Wants To Make Them The Only Time.

Am I Getting Nobler, Better, More Helpful, More Humble, As I Get Older? Am I Exhibiting The Life That Men Take Knowledge Of As Having Been With Jesus, Or Am I Getting More Self-assertive, More Deliberately Determined To Have My Own Way? It Is A Great Thing To Tell Yourself The Truth.

Never Forget That Our Capacity And Capability In Spiritual Matters Is Measured By, And Based On, The Promises Of God.

Prayer Is Not Logical, It Is A Mysterious Moral Working Of The Holy Spirit.

Why Shouldn’t We Experience Heartbreak? Through Those Doorways God Is Opening Up Ways Of Fellowship With His Son. Most Of Us Collapse At The First Grip Of Pain. He Comes With The Grip Of The Pierced Hand Of His Son, As If To Say, “enter Into Fellowship With Me; Arise And Shine.” If God Can Accomplish His Purposes In This World Through A Broken Heart, Then Why Not Thank Him For Breaking Yours?

And It Is Not Repentance That Saves Me — Repentance Is Only The Sign That I Realize What God Has Done Through Christ Jesus.

Whenever You Are In A Critical Temper, It Is Impossible To Enter Into Communion With God. Criticism Makes You Hard And Vindictive And Cruel, And Leaves You With The Flattering Unction That You Are A Superior Person. It Is Impossible To Develop The Characteristics Of A Saint And Maintain A Critical Attitude.

The Goal Of Faithfulness Is Not That We Will Do Work For God, But That He Will Be Free To Do His Work Through Us. God Calls Us To His Service And Places Tremendous Responsibilitie S On Us. He Expects No Complaining On Our Part And Offers No Explanation On His Part. God Wants To Use Us As He Used His Own Son.

When We Touch The Foundation Of The Reality Of The Good News Of God, We Will Never Bother Him Anymore With Little Personal Complaints.

Obey Him With Glad Reckless Joy.

Never Become Attached To Anything That Continues To Hurt God. For You To Be Free Of It, God Must Be Allowed To Hurt Whatever It May Be.

Having The Reality Of God's Presence Is Not Dependent On Our Being In A Particular Circumstance Or Place, But Is Only Dependent On Our Determination To Keep The Lord Before Us Continually.

Living A Life Of Faith Means Never Knowing Where You Are Being Led.

To Be A Holy Person Means That The Elements Of Our Natural Life Experience The Very Presence Of God As They Are Providentially Broken In His Service. We Have To Be Placed Into God And Brought Into Agreement With Him Before We Can Be Broken Bread In His Hands. Stay Right With God And Let Him Do As He Likes, And You Will Find That He Is Producing The Kind Of Bread And Wine That Will Benefit His Other Children.

Remember That We Have To Ask Things Of God That Are In Keeping With The God Whom Jesus Christ Revealed.

In A Conflict Of Loyalty, Obey Jesus At All Costs.

Get Alone With Jesus And Either Tell Him That You Do Not Want Sin To Die Out In You - Or Else Tell Him That At All Costs You Want To Be Identified With His Death.

Faith For My Deliverance Is Not Faith In God. Faith Means, Whether I Am Visibly Delivered Or Not, I Will Stick To My Belief That God Is Love.

Am I Learning How To Use My Bible? The Way To Become Complete For The Master’s Service Is To Be Well Soaked In The Bible; Some Of Us Only Exploit Certain Passages. Our Lord Wants To Give Us Continuous Instruction Out Of His Word; Continuous Instruction Turns Hearers Into Disciples.

We Actually Slander And Dishonor God By Our Very Eagerness To Serve Him Without Knowing Him.

We Think Rightly Or Wrongly About Prayer According To The Conception We Have In Our Minds Of Prayer. If We Think Of Prayer As The Breath In Our Lungs And The Blood From Our Hearts, We Think Rightly. The Blood Flows Ceaselessly, And Breathing Continues Ceaselessly; We Are Not Conscious Of It, But It Is Always Going On. We Are Not Always Conscious Of Jesus Keeping Us In Perfect Joint With God, But If We Are Obeying Him, He Always Is.

Prayer Is The Vital Breath Of The Christian; Not The Thing That Makes Him Alive, But The Evidence That He Is Alive.

It Is Easy To Turn Our Religious Life Into A Cathedral For Beautiful Memories, But There Are Feet To Be Washed . . .
