Faith Is Deliberate Confidence In The Character Of God Whose Ways You Cannot Understand At The Time.

The Height Of The Mountaintop Is Measured By The Drab Drudgery Of The Valley.

We Should Always Choose Our Books As God Chooses Our Friends, Just A Bit Beyond Us, So That We Have To Do Our Level Best To Keep Up With Them.

Let The Attitude Of Your Life Be A Continual Willingness To "go Out" In Dependence Upon God, And Your Life Will Have A Sacred And Inexpressible Charm About It That Is Very Satisfying To Jesus. Faith, As The Bible Teaches It, Is Faith In God Coming Against Everything That Contradicts Him- A Faith That Says, “i Will Remain True To God’s Character Whatever He May Do.” The Highest And The Greatest Expression Of Faith In The Whole Bible Is- “though He Slay Me, Yet Will I Trust Him” (job 13:15).

Our Natural Virtues Can Never Come Anywhere Near What Jesus Christ Wants.

If You Yourself Do Not Cut The Lines That Tie You To The Dock, God Will Have To Use A Storm To Sever Them And To Send You Out To Sea. You Have To Get Out Past The Harbor Into The Great Dephts Of God, And Begin To Know Things For Yourself....beg In To Have Spiritual Discernment. Beware Of Paying Attention Or Going Back To What You Once Were, When God Wants You To Be Something That You Have Never Been.

Don't Forget To Pray Today Because God Did Not Forget To Wake You Up This Morning.

God Gives Us The Vision, Then He Takes Us Down To The Valley To Batter Us Into The Shape Of The Vision, And It Is In The Valley That So Many Of Us Faint And Give Way. Every Vision Will Be Made Real If We Will Have Patience.

We Trample The Blood Of The Son Of God Underfoot If We Think We Are Forgiven Because We Are Sorry For Our Sins.

Leave The Irreparable Past In His Hands, And Step Out Into The Irresistible Future With Him.

The Christian Who Is Truly Intimate With Jesus Will Never Draw Attention To Himself But Will Only Show The Evidence Of A Life Where Jesus Is Completely In Control. This Is The Outcome Of Allowing Jesus To Satisfy Every Area Of Life To Its Depth. The Picture Resulting From Such A Life Is That Of The Strong, Calm Balance That Our Lord Gives To Those Who Are Intimate With Him.

God's Grace Turns Out Men And Women With A Strong Family Likeness To Jesus Christ, Not Milksops.

Am I As Spontaneously Kind To God As I Used To Be, Or Am I Only Expecting God To Be Kind To Me? Am I Full Of The Little Things That Cheer His Heart Over Me, Or Am I Whimpering Because Things Are Going Hardly With Me? There Is No Joy In The Soul That Has Forgotten What God Prizes.

We Have No Right To Judge Where We Should Be Put, Or To Have Preconceived Notions As To What God Is Fitting Us For. God Engineers Everything; Wherever He Puts Us, Our One Great Aim Is To Pour Out A Whole-hearted Devotion To Him In That Particular Work. 'whatsoever Thy Hand Findeth To Do, Do It With Thy Might.'

We Read Some Things In The Bible Three Hundred And Sixty-five Times And They Mean Nothing To Us, Then All Of A Sudden We See What God Means, Because In Some Particular We Have Obeyed God, And Instantly His Nature Is Opened Up.

Beware Of Any Belief That Makes You Self-indulgent; It Came From The Pit, No Matter How Beautiful It Sounds.

There Is No Condition Of Life In Which We Cannot Abide In Jesus. We Have To Learn To Abide In Him Wherever We Are Placed.

Think Of The Enormous Leisure Of God! He Is Never In A Hurry. We Are Always In Such A Frantic Hurry. In The Light Of The Glory Of The Vision We Go Forth To Do Things, But The Vision Is Not Real In Us Yet; And God Has To Take Us Into The Valley, And Put Us Through Fires And Floods To Batter Us Into Shape, Until We Get To The Place Where He Can Trust Us.... Let Him Put You On His Wheel And Whirl You As He Likes, And As Sure As God Is God And You Are You, You Will Turn Out Exactly In Accordance With The Vision. Don't Lose Heart In The Process.

Get Alone With Jesus And Either Tell Him That You Do Not Want Sin To Die Out In You - Or Else Tell Him That At All Costs You Want To Be Identified With His Death.

Suppose God Wants To Teach You To Say, "i Know How To Be Abased"--are You Ready To Be Offered Up Like That? Are You Ready To Be Not So Much As A Drop In A Bucket--to Be So Hopelessly Insignificant That You Are Never Thought Of Again In Connection With The Life You Served? Are You Willing To Spend And Be Spent; Not Seeking To Be Ministered Unto, But To Minister?

Never Look For Right In The Other Man, But Never Cease To Be Right Yourself. We Always Look For Justice In This World, But There Is No Such Thing As Justice. Jesus Says — Never Look For Justice, But Never Cease To Give It.

A Good Book, In The Language Of The Book-sellers, Is A Salable One; In That Of The Curious, A Scarce One; In That Of Men Of Sense, A Useful And Instructive One.
