Each Of You Should Feel That You Have Great Potential And That, With Self-confidence And A Little More Effort, Change Really Is Possible If You Want It. If You Feel That Your Present Way Of Life Is Unpleasant Or Has Some Difficulties, Then Don't Look At These Negative Things. See The Positive Side, The Potential, And Make An Effort.

As Free Human Beings We Can Use Our Unique Intelligence To Try To Understand Ourselves And Our World. But If We Are Prevented From Using Our Creative Potential, We Are Deprived Of One Of The Basic Characteristics Of A Human Being.

Without Your Own Effort It Is Impossible For Blessings To Come.

Unless We Possess High Spiritual Qualifications, There Is No Doubt That The Events Life Throws Upon Us Will Give Rise To Frustration, Emotional Turmoil, And Other Distorted States Of Consciousness. We Need A Little More Compassion, And If We Cannot Have It, Then No Politician Or Even A Magician Can Save The Planet.

Without Mutual Tolerance Emerging As The Foundation, Terrible Situations Like Those Of Tibet And Sri Lanka, Bosnia And Rwanda, Can Never Be Effectively Improved.

Personally, I Would Argue That Not Only Is It Relevant, But That When Compassion Is Lacking, Our Activities Are In Danger Of Becoming Destructive. This Is Because When We Ignore The Question Of The Impact Our Actions Have On Others' Well-being, Inevitably We End Up Hurting Them.

Those Who Suffer From An Exaggerated Sense Of Their Own Ability And Accomplishment Are Continually Subject To Frustration, Disappointment, And Rage When Reality Intrudes And The World Doesn't Validate Their Idealized View Of Themselves.

There Is No Self-interest Completely Unrelated To Others' Interests. Due To The Fundamental Interconnectedness Which Lies At The Heart Of Reality, Your Interest Is Also My Interest. From This It Becomes Clear That "my" Interest And "your" Interest Are Intimately Connected. In A Deep Sense, They Converge.

True Compassion Is Universal In Scope. It Is Accompanied By A Feeling Of Responsibility.

It Is Felt That A Disciplined Mind Leads To Happiness And An Undisciplined Mind Leads To Suffering, And In Fact It Is Said That Bringing About Discipline Within One's Mind Is The Essence Of The Buddha's Teaching.

By Setting Our Motivation Strongly In The Morning When Our Mind Is Fresh And Clear, We Are Much More Likely To Remember It During The Day And Act With That Intention

When Young We Have A Vivid Sense Of Basic Values Like Trust And Warm-heartedness, Which We Tend To Neglect In Today's Competitive World As We Grow Up, Yet From Birth We All Have A Need For Affection. The Emotions We Experience Today Have Not Changed Much Over The Last Few Thousand Years, But The Interest Increasing Numbers Of People Are Showing In Their Inner World And How Their Emotions Work Is A Sign Of Maturity.

Because We All Share This Planet Earth, We Have To Learn To Live In Harmony And Peace With Each Other And With Nature. This Is Not Just A Dream, But A Necessity.

Distrust Brings Frustration And Fear. So Therefore, The Lonely Feeling Automatically Come. So, Lonely Feeling Is Not Creation Of Environment, But Creation Of Your Own Mental Attitude.

For Tibetans, The Real Strength Of Our Struggle Is Truth - Not Size, Money, Or Expertise. China Is Much Bigger, Richer, More Powerful Militarily, And Has Much Better Skill In Diplomacy. They Outdo Us In Every Field. But They Have No Justice. We Have Placed Our Whole Faith In Truth And In Justice. We Have Nothing Else, In Principle And In Practice.

Use Your Human Intelligence In The Best Way You Can; Transform Your Emotions In A Positive Way.

The Natural Environment Sustains The Life Of All Beings Universally.

The More We Care For The Happiness Of Others, The Greater Is Our Own Sense Of Well-being.

Whether One Is Rich Or Poor, Educated Or Illiterate, Religious Or Nonbelieving, Man Or Woman, Black, White, Or Brown, We Are All The Same. Physically, Emotionally, And Mentally, We Are All Equal. We All Share Basic Needs For Food, Shelter, Safety, And Love. We All Aspire To Happiness And We All Shun Suffering. Each Of Us Has Hopes, Worries, Fears, And Dreams. Each Of Us Wants The Best For Our Family And Loved Ones. We All Experience Pain When We Suffer Loss And Joy When We Achieve What We Seek. On This Fundamental Level, Religion, Ethnicity, Culture, And Language Make No Difference.

Instead Of Harboring Fear And Suspicion We Need To Think Of Other People Not As ‘them’ But ‘us’.

My Brain And My Heart Are My Temples. My True Religion Is Kindness.

Through Constant Familiarity, We Can Definitely Establish New Behavior Patterns, Using Our Tendency To Form Habits To Our Advantage. If We Make A Steady Effort, I Think We Can Overcome Any Form Of Negative Conditioning And Make Positive Changes In Our Lives. But We Need To Remember That Genuine Change Doesn't Happen Overnight.

Overcoming Negative Tendencies And Enhancing Positive Potential Are The Very Essence Of The Spiritual Path.

To Remain Indifferent To The Challenges We Face Is Indefensible. If The Goal Is Noble, Whether Or Not It Is Realized Within Our Lifetime Is Largely Irrelevant. What We Must Do Therefore Is To Strive And Persevere And Never Give Up.

Be A Good Human Being, A Warmhearted, Affectionate Person. That Is My Fundamental Belief.

First One Must Change. I First Watch Myself, Check Myself, Then Expect Changes From Others.

Just As Ripples Spread Out When A Single Pebble Is Dropped Into Water, The Actions Of Individuals Can Have Far-reaching Effects.

To Be Extremely Self-centred, Only Interested In Your Own Satisfaction, Always Brings Negative Consequences In The Long Run.

Every Religion Emphasizes Human Improvement, Love, Respect For Others, Sharing Other People's Suffering. On These Lines Every Religion Had More Or Less The Same Viewpoint And The Same Goal.

We Must Conduct Research And Then Accept The Results. If They Don't Stand Up To Experimentation, Buddha`s Own Words Must Be Rejected.

We Should Reflect On The Idea That Since The Beginning Of Time Sentient Beings Have Been Mentally Unstable Because They Have Been Slaves Of Delusion, They Lack The Eye Of Wisdom To See The Path Leading To Nirvana And Enlightenment, And They Lack The Necessary Guidance Of A Spiritual Teacher. Moment By Moment They Are Indulging In Negative Actions, Which Will Eventually Bring About Their Downfall.

Reason Well From The Beginning And Then There Will Never Be Any Need To Look Back With Confusion And Doubt.

Today We Understand That The Future Of Humanity Very Much Depends On Our Planet, And That The Future Of The Planet Very Much Depends On Humanity.

Yet Animals Have No Religion, No Constitution. Basic Nature Has Endowed Them With The Faculty Of Discernment. It Is The Same For Humans.

You Use Force, You Create Fear. Fear Destroys Trust. Trust Is The Basis Of Harmony. The Hardliner Believes Harmony And Unity Can Be Brought By Force. That's Totally Unscientific, Totally Wrong.

Buddha Urged People To Investigate Things - He Didn't Just Command Them To Believe.

Nowadays The World Is Becoming Increasingly Materialistic, And Mankind Is Reaching Toward The Very Zenith Of External Progress, Driven By An Insatiable Desire For Power And Vast Possessions. By This Means Even Anger Can Be Diminished.
