Freedom Is Indivisible - There Is No "s" On The End Of It. You Can Erode Freedom, Diminish It, But You Cannot Divide It And Choose To Keep "some Freedoms" While Giving Up Others.

Although I Held Public Office For A Total Of Sixteen Years, I Also Thought Of Myself As A Citizen-politician, Not A Career One. There You Go Again. When I Opposed Medicare, There Was Another Piece Of Legislation Meeting The Same Problem Before The Congress. I Happened To Favor The Other Piece Of Legislation And Thought That It Would Be Better For The Senior Citizens To Provide Better Care Than The One That Was Finally Passed.

The Same Government That Requires A Taxpaying Citizen To Document Every Statement On His Tax Return Decrees That Questioning A Welfare Applicant Demeans And Humiliates Him.

We Were Poor When I Was Young But The Difference Was That The Government Didn't Come Around Telling You You Were Poor.

When Cruelty Is Inflicted On Innocent People, It Discredits Whatever Cause.

Freedom Is One Of The Deepest And Noblest Aspirations Of The Human Spirit.
