There Is No Latter Day Saint Who Dies After Having Lived A Faithful Life Who Will Lose Anything Because Of Having Failed To Do Certain Things When Opportunities Were Not Furnished Him Or Her. In Other Words, If A Young Man Or A Young Woman Has No Opportunity Of Getting Married, And They Live Faithful Lives Up To The Time Of Their Death, They Will Have All The Blessings, Exaltation, And Glory That Any Man Or Woman Will Have Who Had This Opportunity And Improved It. But If They Think Marshmallows And Sweet Potatoes Are Delicious, They're Going To Burn. That Is Sure And Positive.

Our Being Edified At Conference Depends On Us. It Becomes Necessary That We Prepare Our Hearts To Receive And Profit By The Suggestions That May Be Made By The Speakers During The Progress Of The Conference, Which May Be Prompted By The Spirit Of The Lord. I Have Thought, And Still Think, That Our Being Edified Does Not So Much Depend Upon The Speaker As Upon Ourselves.

Be Better Today Than You Were Yesterday, And Be Better Tomorrow Than You Are Today.

Mortality Is A School Of Suffering And Trials. We Are Here That We May Be Educated In A School Of Suffering And Of Fiery Trials, Which School Was Necessary For Jesus, Our Elder Brother, Who, The Scriptures Tell Us, ‘was Made Perfect Through Suffering.’ It Is Necessary That We Suffer In All Things, That We May Be Qualified And Worthy To Rule, And Govern All Things, Even As Our Father In Heaven And His Eldest Son, Jesus.

When You Find Yourselves A Little Gloomy, Look Around You And Find Somebody That Is In A Worse Plight Than Yourself; Go To Him And Find Out What The Trouble Is, Then Try To Remove It With The Wisdom Which The Lord Bestows Upon You; And The First Thing You Know, Your Gloom Is Gone, You Feel Light, The Spirit Of The Lord Is Upon You, And Everything Seems Illuminated.

If A Person Wants To Enjoy The Spirit Of The Lord...always Cultivate A Spirit Of Gratitude. It Is The Duty Of Every Latter-day Saint To Cultivate A Spirit Of Gratitude.

The God Of The World Is The Gold And The Silver. The World Worships This God. It Is All-powerful To Them, Though They Might Not Be Willing To Acknowledge It. Now It Is Designed, In The Providence Of God, That The Latter-day Saints Should Show Whether They Have So Far Advanced In The Knowledge, In The Wisdom And In The Power Of God That They Cannot Be Overcome By The God Of The World. We Must Come To That Point.

We Ought To Feel In Our Hearts That God Is Our Father, And That While We Make Mistakes And Are Weak Yet If We Live As Nearly Perfect As We Can All Will Be Well With Us.

The Idea Is Not To Do Good Because Of The Praise Of Men; But To Do Good Because In Doing Good We Develop Godliness Within Us, And This Being The Case We Shall Become Allied To Godliness, Which Will In Time Become Part And Portion Of Our Being.

Every Trial A Man Goes Through, If He Is Faithful In That Trial And Does Honor To God And His Religion He Has Espoused, At The End Of That Trial Or Affliction That Individual Is Nearer To God, Nearer In Regard To The Increase Of Faith, Wisdom, Knowledge And Power, And Hence Is More Confident In Calling Upon The Lord For Those Things He Desires.

Among Us, I Am Happy To Say, Old Age Is Honorable, And Regarded As A Blessing From The Lord. It Is Our Duty To Desire To Live Long Upon The Earth, That We May Do As Much Good As We Possibly Can. I Esteem It A Great Privilege To Have The Opportunity Of Living In Mortality. The Lord Has Sent Us Here "for A Wise And Glorious Purpose," And It Should Be Our Business To Find Out What That Purpose Is And Then To Order Our Lives Accordingly.

. . . This Is The High Destiny Of The Sons Of God, They Who Overcome, Who Are Obedient To His Commandments, Who Purify Themselves Even As He Is Pure. They Are To Become Like Him; They Will See Him As He Is; They Will Behold His Face And Reign With Him In His Glory, Becoming Like Unto Him In Every Particular.

A Man's Mind Should Be Single To The Glory Of God In Everything That He Starts To Accomplish. We Should Consider That Of Ourselves We Can Do Nothing. We Are The Children Of God. Every Man And Woman Who Serves The Lord, No Matter How Faithful They May Be, Have Their Dark Hours; But If They Have Lived Faithfully, Light Will Burst Upon Them And Relief Will Be Furnished.

We Trace The Hand Of The Almighty In Framing The Constitution Of Our Land, And Believe That The Lord Raised Up Men Purposely For The Accomplishment Of This Object, Raised Them Up And Inspired Them To Frame The Constitution Of The United States

Our Religion Should Be Incorporated Within Ourselves, A Part Of Our Being That Cannot Be Laid Off.

They Will Sustain The Constitution And Laws And Institutions Of The United States, And Be The Champions Of Liberty And Of That Constitution When Its Integrity Shall Be Threatened.

There Is A Way By Which Persons Can Keep Their Consciences Clear Before God And Man, And That Is To Preserve Within Them The Spirit Of God, Which Is The Spirit Of Revelation To Every Man And Woman. It Will Reveal To Them, Even In The Simplest Of Matters, What They Shall Do, By Making Suggestions To Them. We Should Try To Learn The Nature Of This Spirit, That We May Understand Its Suggestions, And Then We Will Always Be Able To Do Right. This Is The Grand Privilege Of Every Latter-day Saint.

The Law Of Tithing Is One Of The Most Important Ever Revealed To Man. . . . Through Obeying This Law The Blessings Of Prosperity And Success Will Be Given To The Saints.

We Thank Thee For This Opportunity To Show Our Love For These Heroes Who Have Accomplished Such Wonders For The Beloved United States, Which Was Founded By Noble And Inspired Men.

The Severest Prosecutions Have Never Been Followed By Revelations Changing A Divine Law, Obedience To Which Brought Imprisonment Or Martyrdom. Though I Go To Prison, God Will Not Change His Law Of Celestial Marriage.

There Are Some Who Do Not Learn, And Who Do Not Improve As Fast As They Might, Because Their Eyes And Their Hearts Are Not Upon God; They Do Not Reflect Neither Do They Have That Knowledge Which They Might Have; They Miss A Good Deal Which They Might Receive. We Have Got To Obtain Knowledge Before We Obtain Permanent Happiness; We Have Got To Be Wide Awake In The Things Of God.
