There Are Two Aspects Of Individual Harmony: The Harmony Between Body And Soul, And The Harmony Between Individuals. All The Tragedy In The World, In The Individual And In The Multitude, Comes From Lack Of Harmony. And Harmony Is The Best Given By Producing Harmony In One's Own Life.

In Love Abides All Knowledge. It Is Mankind's Love And Interest In Things That In Time Reveals Their Secret.

Before Making Peace, War Is Necessary, And That War Must Be Made With Our Self. Our Worst Enemy Is Our Self: Our Faults, Our Weaknesses, Our Limitations. And Our Mind Is Such A Traitor! What Does It? It Covers Our Faults Even From Our Own Eyes, And Points Out To Us The Reason For All Our Difficulties: Others! So It Constantly Deludes Us, Keeping Us Unaware Of The Real Enemy, And Pushes Us Towards Those Others To Fight Them, Showing Them To Us As Our Enemies.

Have You Known What It Is To Give Your Meal To Another And To Go Without Yourself? It Gives A Happiness That No Dinner Eaten By Yourself Can Give. Have You Known What It Is To Give Your Coat To Another And Do Without It Yourself? It Gives A Joy That The Satisfaction Of Your Own Wants Cannot Give You.

While People Judge Others From Their Own Moral Standpoint, The Wise Person Looks Also At The Point Of View Of Another.

Some People Look For A Beautiful Place, Others Make A Place Beautiful.

People In The World Wish To Make Things Rigid, Things Which Are Of The Finest Nature Which Words Cannot Explain. When A Person Describes The Hereafter, It Is Just Like Wanting To Weigh The Soul Or Photograph The Spirit. I Personally Think That You Must Be Able To Realize Yourself What The Hereafter Is. You Must Not Depend Upon My Words.

I Have Known Good And Evil, Sin And Virtue, Right And Wrong; I Have Judged And Been Judged; I Have Passed Through Birth And Death, Joy And Sorrow, Heaven And Hell; And In The End I Realized That I Am In Everything And Everything Is In Me.

According To Metaphysics, Fear Is Caused By The Lack Of Light.

The One Spirit Of Life Is Given Different Names, The Sacred Names. We More Easily Recognize The Spirit Of Life By The Particular Name To Which We Are Accustomed. So Far We Are Right, But The Mistake We Make, And It Is To Our Loss, Is To Ignore Or Deny The Same Truth Because It Is Given To Us In Another Form And Under Another Name. We Limit It. We Say The Truth Existed Only In That Period When Certain Teachers Came To The World, And That After That It Stopped.

The Purpose Of Creation Is Beauty. Nature In All Its Various Aspects Develops Towards Beauty, And Therefore It Is Plain That The Purpose Of Life Is To Evolve Towards Beauty.

The Truth Is That Man Is One Individual With Two Aspects, Just Like One Line With Two Ends. If You Look At The Ends, It Is Two. If You Look At The Line, It Is One. One End Of The Line Is Limited, The Other End Of The Line Is Unlimited. One End Is Man, The Other End Is God.

The Words That Enlighten The Soul Are More Precious Than Jewels.

There Is Nothing In The World That Does Not Speak To Us. Everything And Everybody Reveals Its Own Nature, Character And Secrets Continuously. The More Open Our Inner Senses, The More We Understand The Voice Of Everything.

Sound Is The Force Of Creation, The True Whole. Music Then, Becomes The Voice Of The Great Cosmic Oneness And Therefore The Optimal Way To Reach This Final State Of Healing.

The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism; The Harmony Of Life Is Religion. The Knowledge Of Vibrations Is Metaphysics, The Analysis Of Atoms Is Science, And Their Harmonious Grouping Is Art. Therefore It Is The Law Of The Mystics To See All Things, To Experience All Things, Either Of Heaven Or Earth, And Yet To Say Little; For The Souls Incapable Of Understanding The Possibility Of Their Reach Will Ridicule Them.

The Secret Of Life Is Balance, And The Absence Of Balance Is Life's Destruction.

True Power Is Not In Trying To Gain Power; True Power Is In Becoming Power. But How To Become Power? It Requires An Attempt To Make A Definite Change In Oneself, And That Change Is A Kind Of Struggle With One's False Self.

Self-pity Is The Worst Poverty. When A Person Says, 'i Am...' With Pity, Before He Has Said Anything More He Has Diminished Himself To Half Of What He Is; And What Is Said Further, Diminishes Him Totally; Nothing More Of Him Is Left Afterwards.

A Person However Learned And Qualified In His Life's Work In Whom Gratitude Is Absent, Is Devoid Of That Beauty Of Character Which Makes Personality Fragrant.

Each Individual Composes The Music Of His Own Life. If He Injures Another, He Brings Disharmony. When His Sphere Is Disturbed, He Is Disturbed Himself, And There Is A Discord In The Melody Of His Life. If He Can Quicken The Feeling Of Another To Joy Or To Gratitude, By That Much He Adds To His Own Life; He Becomes Himself By That Much More Alive. Whether Conscious Of It Or Not, His Thought Is Affected For The Better By The Joy Or Gratitude Of Another, And His Power And Vitality Increase Thereby, And The Music Of His Life Grows More In Harmony.

Music Is The Basis Of The Whole Creation. In Reality The Whole Of Creation Is Music, And What We Call Music Is Simply A Miniature Of The Original Music, Which Is Creation Itself, Expressed In Tone And Rhythm.

What Makes Us Feel Drawn To Music Is That Our Whole Being Is Music: Our Mind And Body, The Nature In Which We Live, The Nature Which Has Made Us, All That Is Beneath And Around Us, It Is All Music.

The Rain Does Not Fall In A Certain Land Only; The Sun Does Not Shine Only On A Particular Country. All That Comes From God Is For All Souls. Verily, Blessing Is For Every Soul; For Every Soul, Whatever Be One's Faith Or Belief, Belongs To God.

He Who Once Burns His Mouth On The Hot Soup, Blows Even The Buttermilk.

It Is Not Solid Wood That Can Become A Flute, But The Empty Reed.

When We Are Face To Face With Truth, The Point Of View Of Krishna, Buddha, Christ, Or Any Other Prophet, Is The Same. When We Look At Life From The Top Of The Mountain, There Is No Limitation; There Is The Same Immensity.

Every Moment Of Life Brings An Opportunity For Being Conscious Of Human Feeling, In Prosperity, In Adversity, In All Conditions. It Costs Very Little; Only A Little Thought Is Necessary. There Is No Greater Religion Than Love. God Is Love; And The Best Form Of Love Is To Be Conscientious Regarding The Feelings Of Those With Whom We Come In Contact In Everyday Life.

All Ignorance Is The Lack Of Love.

Stand Through Life Firm As A Rock In The Sea, Undisturbed And Unmoved By Its Ever-rising Waves

In A Small Affair Or In A Big Affair, First Consult Yourself And Find Out If There Is Any Conflict In Your Own Being About Anything You Want To Do. And When You Find No Conflict There, Then Feel Sure That A Path Is Already Made For You. You Have But To Open Your Eyes And Take A Step Forward, And The Other Step Will Be Led By God.

The Greatest Is To Have A Tendency To Friendship; This Is Expressed In The Form Of Tolerance And Forgiveness, In The Form Of Service And Trust. In Whatever Form He May Express It This Is The Central Theme: The Constant Desire To Prove One's Love For Humanity, To Be The Friend Of All.

All That Produces Longing In The Heart Deprives It Of Its Freedom.

Mankind Is Interdependent, And The Happiness Of Each Depends Upon The Happiness Of All, And It Is This Lesson That Humanity Has To Learn Today As The First And The Last Lesson.

What We Call Music In Our Everyday Language Is Only A Miniature, Which Our Intelligence Has Grasped From That Music Or Harmony Of The Whole Universe Which Is Working Behind Everything, And Which Is The Source And Origin Of Nature. It Is Because Of This That The Wise Of All Ages Have Considered Music To Be A Sacred Art. For In Music The Seer Can See The Picture Of The Whole Universe; And The Wise Can Interpret The Secret And Nature Of The Working Of The Whole Universe In The Realm Of Music.

If A Person Is Cold And Rigid, He Feels Within Himself As If He Were In A Grave. He Is Not Living, He Cannot Enjoy This Life For He Cannot Express Himself And He Cannot See The Light And Life Outside. What Keeps Man From Developing The Heart Quality? His Exacting Attitude. He Wants To Make A Business Of Love. He Says, 'if You Will Love Me, I Will Love You.' As Soon As A Man Measures And Weighs His Favors And His Services And All That He Does For One Whom He Loves, He Ceases To Know What Love Is. Love Sees The Beloved And Nothing Else.

His Constant Fight Is With The Nafs (self-interest), The Root Of All Disharmony And The Only Enemy Of Man. By Crushing This Enemy Man Gains Mastery Over Himself; This Wins For Him Mastery Over The Whole Universe, Because The Wall Standing Between The Self And The Almighty Has Been Broken Down. Gentleness, Mildness, Respect, Humility, Modesty, Self-denial, Conscientiousness, Tolerance And Forgiveness Are Considered By The Sufi As The Attributes Which Produce Harmony Within One's Own Soul As Well As Within That Of Another.

The One Thing To Rely Upon Is God's Favor. Do Not Build Either On Your Study Or On Your Meditation, Although They Both Help You. But You Are Dependent On God, Not Even On Your Murshid. Seek Him, Trust Him. In Him Lies Your Life's Purpose, And In Him Is Hidden The Rest Of Your Soul.

For The Value Of Everything Exists For Man Only So Long As He Does Not Understand It. When He Has Fully Understood, The Value Is Lost, Be It The Lowest Thing Or The Highest Thing.

Music Seems To Be The Bridge Over The Gulf Between Form And The Formless.

God Is Not Justice. Justice Is In His Nature, But Love Is Predominant. People Attach Such Importance To Actions And Their Results. In Sufi Terms The Crushing Of The Ego Is Called Nafs Kushi. And How Do We Crush It? We Crush It By Sometimes Taking Ourselves To Task. When The Self Says, 'o No, I Must Not Be Treated Like This,' Then We Say, 'what Does It Matter?' When The Self Says, 'he Ought To Have Done This, She Ought To Have Said That,' We Say, 'what Does It Matter, Either This Way Or That Way? Every Person Is What He Is; You Cannot Change Him, But You Can Change Yourself.' That Is The Crushing. ... It Is Only In This Way That We Can Crush Our Ego.

Very Often Pessimistic People Speak Against Their Own Desire. They Want To Undertake Some Work, And They Say, 'i Will Do This, But I Don't Think I Shall Succeed In It.' Thus They Hinder Themselves In Their Path. Man Does Not Know That Every Thought Makes An Impression On The Consciousness And On The Rhythm With Which The Consciousness Is Working. According To That Rhythm That Reflection Will Come True And Happen; And A Man Proves To Be His Own Enemy By His Ignorance Of These Things.

The Man Who Tries To Prove His Belief Superior To The Faith Of Another, Does Not Know The Meaning Of Religion.

The Soul Of All Is One Soul And The Truth Is One Truth, Under Whatever Religion It Is Hidden.

Now If I Do Anything It Is To Tune Souls Instead Of Instruments. To Harmonize People Instead Of Notes. If There Is Anything In My Philosophy, It Is The Law Of Harmony: That One Must Put Oneself In Harmony With Oneself And With Others.
