Gratitude Is A Flower That Blooms In Noble Souls.

Holy Week Challenges Us To Step Outside Ourselves So As To Attend To The Needs Of Others: Those Who Long For A Sympathetic Ear, Those In Need Of Comfort Or Help. We Should Not Simply Remain In Our Own Secure World, That Of The Ninety-nine Sheep Who Never Strayed From The Fold, But We Should Go Out, With Christ, In Search Of The One Lost Sheep, However Far It May Have Wandered.

Wine Is A Sign Of Happiness, Love And Plenty, How Many Of Our Adolescents And Young People Sense That These Are No Longer Found In Their Homes? How Many Women, Sad And Lonely, Wonder When Love Left, When It Slipped Away From Their Lives? How Many Elderly People Feel Left Out Of Family Celebrations, Cast Aside And Longing Each Day For A Little Love?

The First Reform Must Be The Attitude. The Ministers Of The Gospel Must Be People Who Can Warm The Hearts Of The People, Who Walk Through The Dark Night With Them, Who Know How To Dialogue And To Descend Themselves Into Their People's Night, Into The Darkness, But Without Getting Lost. The People Of God Want Pastors, Not Clergy Acting Like Bureaucrats Or Government Officials.

Without Mercy, We Have Little Chance Nowadays Of Becoming Part Of A World Of 'wounded' Persons In Need Of Understanding, Forgiveness, Love.

Just As We Need The Courage To Be Happy, We Also Need The Courage To Live Simply.

There Is Another Temptation Which We Must Especially Guard Against: The Simplistic Reductionism Which Sees Only Good Or Evil; Or, If You Will, The Righteous And Sinners. The Contemporary World, With Its Open Wounds Which Affect So Many Of Our Brothers And Sisters, Demands That We Confront Every Form Of Polarization Which Would Divide It Into These Two Camps.

I Sincerely Hope I Can Contribute To The Progress There Has Been In Relations Between Jews And Catholics Since The Second Vatican Council In A Spirit Of Renewed Collaboration.

How Many Kinds Of Moral And Material Poverty We Face Today As A Result Of Denying God And Putting So Many Idols In His Place!

Many Of You Have Asked The Lord, Looking At Him: Why, Lord? And The Lord Answers To Each One Of You, To Your Heart, Christ Responds With His Heart. It's The Only Thing I Can Tell You. Let Us Look To Christ, He Is The Lord And He Understands Us Because He Underwent All The Trials That We Go Through.

You Tell Me: Can You Live Crushed Under The Weight Of The Present? Without A Memory Of The Past And Without The Desire To Look Ahead To The Future By Building Something, A Future, A Family? Can You Go On Like This? This, To Me, Is The Most Urgent Problem That The Church Is Facing.

Religious Life Ought To Promote Growth In The Church By Way Of Attraction. The Church Must Be Attractive. Wake Up The World! Be Witnesses Of A Different Way Of Doing Things, Of Acting, Of Living! It Is Possible To Live Differently In This World.

Let Us Contemplate The Humility Of The Son Of God Born Into Poverty. Let Us Imitate Him By Sharing With Those Who Are Weak.

Amid So Many Problems, Even Grave, May We Not Lose Our Hope In The Infinite Mercy Of God.

Every Threat To The Family Is A Threat To Society Itself.

We Too Can Be Saints In Our Family, In Our Neighborhood, Wherever We Live And Work. Be A Person Who Listens To What People Need, Communicating Not Only To Grieve Or Tell Others About Your Own Problems. Listen In Order To Intercede And Help Out.

This Is Precisely The Reason For The Dissatisfaction Of Some, Who End Up Sad - Sad Priests - In Some Sense Becoming Collectors Of Antiques Or Novelties, Instead Of Being Shepherds Living With 'the Odor Of The Sheep.' This I Ask You: Be Shepherds, With The 'odor Of The Sheep,' Make It Real, As Shepherds Among Your Flock, Fishers Of Men.

Given - And This Is The Fundamental Thing - That God's Mercy Has No Limits, If He Is Approached With A Sincere And Repentant Heart, The Question For Those Who Do Not Believe In God Is To Abide By Their Own Conscience. There Is Sin, Also For Those Who Have No Faith, In Going Against One's Conscience. Listening To It And Abiding By It Means Making Up One's Mind About What Is Good And Evil.

When Money, Instead Of Man, Is At The Center Of The System, When Money Becomes An Idol, Men And Women Are Reduced To Simple Instruments Of A Social And Economic System, Which Is Characterized, Better Yet Dominated, By Profound Inequalities. So We Discard Whatever Is Not Useful To This Logic; It Is This Attitude That Discards Children And Older People, And Is Now Affecting The Young.

The Only War That We Must All Fight Is The One Against Evil.

Jesus Receives Us With All Of Our Limitations, He Bring Us The Mercy Of The Father Who Forgives Us, And Transforms Our Heart, Rendering It A New Heart, Capable Of Loving Him, Who Loved His Own To The End (cf. John 13:1). And This Love Is Manifested In His Mercy. Jesus Always Forgives Us.

Take Good Care Of Creation. St. Francis Wanted That. People Occasionally Forgive, But Nature Never Does. If We Don't Take Care Of The Environment, There's No Way Of Getting Around It.

I Dream Of A Church That Is A Mother And Shepherdess.

Let The Church Always Be A Place Of Mercy And Hope, Where Everyone Is Welcomed, Loved And Forgiven.

We Now Live In A Culture Of The Temporary, In Which More And More People Are Simply Giving Up On Marriage As A Public Commitment.

Let's Ask Ourselves: Are We Open To The Holy Spirit, Do I Pray To Him To Enlighten Me, To Make Me More Sensitive To The Things Of God? And This Is A Prayer We Need To Pray Every Day, Every Day: Holy Spirit May My Heart Be Open To The Word Of God, May My Heart Be Open To Good, May My Heart Be Open To The Beauty Of God, Every Day.

Vocations Are Born In Prayer And From Prayer; And Only In Prayer Can They Persevere And Bear Fruit.

A Christian Brings Peace To Others. Not Only Peace, But Also Love, Kindness, Faithfulness And Joy.
