It Would Seem That Not Only Is Religion Lacking In The Schools - So Is Common Sense. I Wonder What A Teacher Is Supposed To Say If A Kid Asks About Those Four Words On A Dime - 'in God We Trust.' Or Maybe That's Why They Aren't Being Taught How To Read These Days.

The Same Government That Requires A Taxpaying Citizen To Document Every Statement On His Tax Return Decrees That Questioning A Welfare Applicant Demeans And Humiliates Him.

'trust-me' Government Asks That We Concentrate Our Hopes And Dreams On One Man, That We Trust Him To Do What's Best For Us. My View Of Government Places Trust Not In One Person Or One Party, But In Those Values That Transcend Persons And Parties.

The Preservation Of Parks, Wilderness, And Wildlife Has Also Aided Liberty By Keeping Alive The 19th Century Sense Of Adventure And Awe With Which Our Forefathers Greeted The American West. Many Laws Protecting Environmental Quality Have Promoted Liberty By Securing Property Against The Destructive Trespass Of Pollution. In Our Own Time, The Nearly Universal Appreciation Of These Preserved Landscapes, Restored Waters, And Cleaner Air Through Outdoor Recreation Is A Modern Expression Of Our Freedom And Leisure To Enjoy The Wonderful Life That Generations Past Have Built For Us.
