I. Livelihood Program

           

  • Rope, Goat, Mango Orchard and Rice Vending Project
    • Reflow fund Project
    • Continuous monitoring by the community and Company
    • Covered with Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Company and community(ies).
  • Seed Capital for “Bigasan ng Bayan Project
  • 4 organized groups of Brgys. Mahayag, Bunawan, Ilang, and Tibungco, all in Bunawan District were the beneficiaries of the project.
  • 17 sacks of rice per barangays (amounting P 29,240.00 per barangay), with the total amount of P 116,960.00 spent by the Company for this project.
  • Covered with MOA signed between the Company and concerned barangays.
  • The concerned beneficiaries will be expected to paid back within 3 years period the said project in order for it to reflow for another identify groups or associations in the community.
  • Seed Capital Assistance “Water Refilling Station”
    • Recipient of the project is the Tibungco Women’s Association.
    • The Company provided a capital assistance of P 12,500.00 for water tank as drinking water refilling station which serves as their livelihood project.
    • It is expected that the seed capital will be paid and/or reflowed within the period of three (3) years without interest.

II. Health Program

 

  • Continuous Blood Letting Drive
    • Regular Bloodletting program were conducted in the host barangay of the Company particularly at Brgy. Tibungco and Mahayag, Bunawan District, Davao City, in partnership program with Department of Health, community volunteers and LGU of the abovementioned barangays.
    • For 2011 alone, the Company spent an amount worth P 52,860.00 in which more or less 300 blood donors responded in every bloodletting campaign.

 

  • Provision of Plastic Beds for Blood Letting Drive
    • In support to the Bloodletting drive which conducted regularly, the Company provided and purchased Plastic Beds to be used for Bloodletting activity particularly in Brgy. Mahayag, Bunawan District, Davao City. The Company spends almost P 170,000.00 for the said bloodletting facility.

 

 

 

 

  • “Operation Tuli”
    • Every summer, the Company regularly conducted Operations Tuli in partnership with barangay concerned and Bunawan Health Office. The Company through its SDMP Health Program spends almost P 50,000 for this activity for medicines and medical supplies which benefited more or less 300 children serving the host and neighboring communities.

 

 

III. Education Program

 

  • Educational Assistance
    • Partnership project with the Davao City Social Services and Development Office and 6 impact barangays.
    • 65 students from Barangays Panacan, Ilang, Tibungco, Bunawan, Mahayag & San Isidro, all in Bunawan District benefited the said project.
    • Each student received P 500.00 for their monthly transportation allowance.
    • In year 2011, the Company almost P 364,340.00 for transportation expenses, school supplies and uniform of the students.
    • Monthly meeting was also conducted by the Company with the scholars.
    • Educational enhancement was also initiated such as Lakbay Aral last summer visiting the City Library, Museo Dabawenyo and Davao Crocodile Park.

 

 

  • eMedia Facility Project Turnover
    • With 112 total enrollees for SY 2011-2012, Tagamot Elementary School in Brgy. Dawan, Mati, Davao Oriental was the recipient.
    • P 55,000.00 was spent for the education facilities which aid the teachers in imparting the lessons to the student.
    • Covered with Deed of Donation signed by the Donor (Holcim) and the Donee (school)
  • Construction and Completion Day Care Center
    • The Company educationally committed especially in construction of Day care Center. In 2011, HPDP spent more or less P 500,000.00 for the Construction of Day Care Center in Brgy. Panacan and P 193,000.00 for Construction of Day Care Center Comfort Room in Brgy. Ilang, Bunawan District, Davao City.
    • Barangay counterpart is the lot where the center is constructed and the salary of the Day Care teacher with supervision of the Davao CSSDO.
    • For SY 2011-2012, almost 50 preschoolers were benefited in the said day care Center.

  • Drum and Bugle Musical Instrument Facility 
    • 2 Bass Drums, 10 Snare Drums, 15 Lyres, 2 Cymbals and 2 Trumpets were received by Sixto Babao Elem. School with 1,648 student total enrollees for SY 2011-2012
    • Amounting to P 55,625.00 for the Drum and Bugle Corps of the said School.
    • Covered with Deed of Donation signed by the Donor (Holcim) and the Donee (school)
    • It is expected that this facility will be useful to motivate the members of the Drum and Bugles Team the opportunity to excel and be more skillful in playing the said instrument.

 

IV. Infrastructure

 

  • Jetmatic Pump Installation
    • Installed at different Puroks in Barangay Bunawan.
    • Costing an amount of P 75,353.60, this project will benefit more than 100 families.
    • Water pump could be used for washing but not for drinking
  • Construction and Completion of Water Reservoir

    • It is a phase by phase project in which the 1st Phse is Water Drilling Activity which is done on last quarter in 2010. Now, the 2nd Phase is Completion of Water System Project in Brgy. San Isidro
    • The Company spent P 530,000.00 for the construction of the water reservoir in which the counterpart of the barangay is the lot where the reservoir is constructed and the water meters of the water beneficiaries
    • This will benefits more or less 50 families in which the beneficiaries will pay the electric bills based on actual consumption as indicated in water meter.
  • Road Maintenance
    • Purok Lampansa, Brgy. Dawan, Mati received 600 liters of crude oil from the Company for the heavy equipment that maintained its various barangay road.
    • It spent P 27,600.00 for the crude oil.
    • Equipment from the province was tapped by the barangay for the purpose

 

Promotion of Public Awareness and education on Mining Technology and Geosciences / IEC Program

 

 

  • IEC on the Benefit of Mining
    • Continuously conducted IEC to different host communities such as discussion on safety practices that needs to be followed by the communities and other issues relevant to responsible mining.
    • The Company spends around P 20,000.00 for dissemination of information through IEC activity particularly on host communities information drive in year 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • IEC Benchmarking
    • Conducted on February 22-23, 2010, Brgy. Council of Quirino, La Union benchmarked Davao’s SDMP Projects and activities.
    • Visited SDMP projects in Barangays Ilang, Mahayag and San Isidro, Bunawan District, Davao City.
    • The 2-day IEC benchmarking spent P 15,057.00

 

 

 

 

 

  • Voice on Air “Kumbati sa Radyo Asenso”
    • 30-minute twice a week Radio Advocacy Program in DXOW 981 Khz, 10,000 watts which is in partnership with MGB XI.
    • Paid Radio Ads and Advocacy Program which 1st aired last from March 1, 2011 to present.
    • The program may reach nearby areas in Davao City such as Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, ComVal, Davao Oriental, and other remote areas in Mindanao Region.
    • Guests of the Radio Program are from MGB XI and Holcim’s Davao Plant discussing different topics such as Mining Act, Responsible Mining and Best Practices in mining. 
  • Collaterals
    • Tarpaulins used as IEC materials / backdrop during turn-over of projects, medical & dental missions, quarterly SDMP meeting, planning workshop and other events.
    • Some tarpaulins also installed at Holcim Davao Plant Eco-trail.
    • P 66,494.00 was spent for these materials.

 

 

  • Video / Photo Documentation
    • Documentation of Share Our Closet Project and Save Davao River Watershed.
    • Documentation of other SDMP/CSR projects and activities.
    • The Company spent P 15,680.00 for the coverage and documentation.

  • SDMP/CSR Annual Brochures
  • Production of 100 copies of Holcim Davao Plant brochures of SDMP / CSR initiative projects and programs from July 2010 – 2011.
  • These brochures will be disseminated to different LGUs, offices and agencies in order for them to inform the SDMP/CSR programs of the Company.
  • P 26,000.00 was spent for the production of the Annual Brochure.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Audio Visual Presentation (AVP) on Mining, Environment, Safety, SDMP/CSR & IEC
    • 25-minute video presentation of the Company’s mining, Envi, Safety, SDMP/CSR & IEC initiatives and best practices.
    • SDMP projects/programs that have been accomplished for the period from July 2010 to June 2011 was highlighted in the presentation.
    • This will part of the Company’s Entry to PMIEA.
    • P 117,360.00 was spent for the AVP including cost of airfare of the crew, hotel accommodation and other incidental expenses.
  • Barangay Newsletter Production
    • Maiden issue of Barangay Newsletter that documents various projects and activities in the communities.
    • Released on 2nd Quarter of 2011.
    • Stories featured are the people and community(ies) on the CSR and SDMP practices program.
    • 100 copies were produced costing P 19,600.00

 

VI. OTHER PROJECTS / UNPROGRAM / CSR Initiated not under SDMP:

  • Water Reservoir Construction
    • P 530,000.00 was spent for the construction of water reservoir at Sta. Cruz, Panabo where the exploration activity of the Company was done.
    • Once the water reservoir becomes functional, beneficiaries are more than 100 families.
    • Budget of the said reservoir is not funded under SDMP instead it is a CSR initiative in which funded are coming from Holcim Central Office.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Save Davao River Watershed
    • Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Kinaiyahan Foundation, Inc. (KFI) last April 4, 2011.
    • 41 IP families from Marilog District, Davao City were organized to cultivate 50 hectares of farmland using contour farming using Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) A-frame farming to protect the land from possible soil erosion and landslide.
    • The Company almost spent and amount of P 500,000.00.


  • Share Our  Closet Project
    • Program started on February 14, 2011 as Holcim employee volunteerism initiative.
    • Holcim employees are encouraged to share used clothing, blankets, books and other items for IPs of Marilog.
    • On April 28, 2011, 41 families of Matigsalog tribe from Marilog District, Davao City received a bag of used clothing and other stuff.
    • P 8,190.00 was spent for meals and snacks during distribution of the items.

 

 

 

 

  • Brigada Escuela
    • Every summer, the Company committed to participate Brigada Escuela through giving of cements to be used for that purpose.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • ‘galing Mason Training
    • 105 masons completed the ‘galing Mason Training (81 for NC 1 and 24 for NC 2).
    • Two (2) trainings conducted, one at Comval on April 18 to May 2, 2011 in which the training cum production output was 30% masonry works of 9 housing; and the other one at Sixto Babao Elem. School in which the training cum output was concreting of 197.86 sq.m. school ground.
    • The two sets of training spent P 550,656.75.

 

 

 

 

  • Project Monitoring and Meetings
    • SDMP Quarterly Coordinator Meeting was also done quarterly at Holcim Office to update the accomplishment of every host communities for the quarter.
